I had a dove get into my garage and make a mess on my pickup. Thankfully it was not in the other garage where the Model T's are parked.
Those birds in your picture should have good feathers.

Birds in general are fascination creatures. Peafowl are no exception. Technically, only the male is a peacock.
Many years ago, I knew a couple through the family business that were themselves somewhat interesting. They sometimes talked about how they "used to hate" those blankin peafowl! They tend to be mean, viciously territorial, and extremely messy birds. And they often roosted in a big tree in front of the house (making a nasty mess underneath).
Then one night, the peafowl saved their lives! While everyone was sound asleep, something started a fire in the attic of the house. The whole flock in the tree began shrieking, woke up the whole family in time to not only save them, but also save the house from really serious damage!
The family swore those birds had a safe haven for as long as they lived!
Never was a better fire alarm than a few peafowl.

Do you know that peacocks don't lay eggs?

Hi Tim,
Check with your neighbors to see if there home owners insurance will cover any damage they do. I have seen modern cars destroyed by peafowl. One was totaled by the insurance Co. In my state if fowl are not penned and off the the owners property they are considered free range. I had a neighbor that would not pen his chickens and they tore up my wife's flower beds so she gave them names like stew, soup and casserole. Same neighbor had someone drop off a peacock in less than a year other people dropped several more. They tore the paint up on two of his cars before he got rid of them! Never had peafowl but have heard from a neighbor they are tough.
Craig.

No, I certainly didn't know that. Please enlighten us !
Neighbors a mile away had peafowl years ago. We heard their annoying cries very clearly. They took to roosting on the power-pole cross trees, and eventually were all electrocuted, one by one.

Thanks Scott. And she runs great too, thanks to a fresh Joe Bell rebuild.
Craig, so far anyway they're pretty docile. Just nosey. They come and go here daily, usually stopping by on the patio for a lengthy visit.

You are lucky they didn't fowl the paintwork on that nice torpedo.
