Saw some interesting T racers on youtube

Took some screenshots. To summarize I believe these cars are original to the Alberta race in 40s. Only watched bits just to see the cars for ideas…but took some screenshots to share. Noticed one had two back halves of exhaust manifold which was interesting, and one had an aircraft mixture control deal. Just thought others might find it equally interesting. Also note the foot throttle on the yellow one lol:

Interesting carburetor "mixture" control utilizing a closed car window crank mechanism !!!

The yellow car allong with other original racers were on the half mile dirt
track at Dinosaur Downs this past weekend. In total 12 Model T racers and
four exhibition racers. A great weekend with 1941 Alberta racing rules in place.

Ralph Nader is shrieking and throwing himself about .... as Greta thrashes about on the floor and foams at the mouth. PS: Save those old warped manifolds!

I haven’t listened to what they’re talking about but I’ll go back and watch with sound later.

That's really cool. Some folks could sure use that window crank mechanism. So good to see that.
Thanks
Rich

I just watched it again with sound. How cool is that?
It’s very interesting the things they did to the engine etc to get them faster. Starting that number 19 car would be a little scary

. Goes to show they pretty much used what they had and did whatever they could to get the cars a certain way. Lot of fire coming out that exhaust lol

That is neat. Then at the end they gotta poke their finger in my eye with that Stevens rethread tool.

Can’t remember if it was that video or another I watched yesterday on their channel, but that long one motion “jack” that lifted the tire was sweet and I want one lol or those two one motion jacks he put on rear of one…really wanna find one, but don’t know what they are called!
I had posted a picture of the cars on Instagram and they actually messaged me and told me more about the cars, as well as the one not in the video they built as almost a carbon copy of one of them.
There was another gentleman on Instagram (I’ll have to find his name, not associated with other people…perhaps from Europe) that says is using John Gerber T sprint car frame and building a speedster. Very interesting rear end assembly that made me curious how it’s set up and also safe. I’ll post a pic here:

That was an excellent use of a half hour! Thank you for starting this thread!
Starting 19 would be just like starting some OT's (Old Tractors).
It was so surprising to me when I put a correct exhaust manifold on Ol Crappy after removing the home-spun header.
It turned a torque boy into a putz.
Let them breath and they're just snotty little buggers!
