Found a pair of these in some stuff I have had for years. Anyone know the story on them? Yes, I know they are rear end thrust bearings, but who made them? Fit a T rear end. Not sure about thickness yet. Thanks Dan

They are a period accessory. There were a few different manufactures of similar units.
If you scan a bunch of accessory catalogs you will see them.

There are some very similar that are still being made or at least they use to be. They have have small roller bearings in them. Some like them some don’t.
They are still available so I guess folks still use them.

Thanks Dan. I was pretty sure you had some info on them. I am always amazed you have and can find that info.
I just need to look up the Patent that is shown. Thanks Again.

I see them as an unnecessary complication, but in the absence of bronze thrust washers to replace Henry's doubtful potmetal ones, they may well have been if some value. Good luck trying to set crown wheel and pinion mesh though, unless shims can be fitted as well.

Dan,
Very neat after market part the fact that so many people thought they had a better idea than Henry did is why we can walk into a auto parts store and buy parts for our modern cars & trucks at a price we can almost afford ( no pun intended )
