This was inside my Runabout I bought recently. Put my hat in place and immediately thought of Steve Jelf! Anyone else have one of these!

I saw a picture of one of those (less the hat!) just a couple weeks ago. I would guess it was on this forum, but maybe it was somewhere else?

That’s a T era version of this. If this were black it’d look period correct.

Thanks, Jeff. You brought back a good memory for me. My 1933 Plymouth coupe had one of those. I owned that great car from 1958 to 1961. :) :)

I looked on t-bay out of curiosity, and found several listed under "hat saver". Most were in the $20.00 range.

I have seen those in many law enforcement cars. The troopers keep their hats out of their way when they are driving.

And no I didn't view them from the back seat! I have two brothers who are retired law enforcement.

Here is one I removed from a 26 Tudor that belonged to a friend of mine. He did not like it, so I ended up with it.

These brackets are very common in most any large western stores and magazines. Mostly used in pick up trucks and they do work !!

Is there an accessory that holds a hat on your HEAD ?? I buy one if so :P
A bit of cross wind kept blowing my hat off yesterday, it landed in the back seat at least.

If you can stand advertising another club, the HCCA sells a hat lanyard for three bucks. It's basically a strap with an alligator clip on each end. One end goes on the hat, the other on the neck of your shirt. If your hat blows off, it doesn't go anywhere; you just reach back, grab the hat, and replace it on your head. I now wear one whenever I'm in an old car.

I lost three years' use of my single-cylinder Cadillac for not having one of these. On a tour in Florida, my hat blew off. I pulled all the way off the road onto the shoulder so I could walk back to retrieve my hat. A jackass in a big SUV, yapping away on his cell phone, drifted off the road and sent my car 30 feet into a field. Hagerty paid for the rebuild. I tell people it's the world's most expensive hat, second only to the one QEII wears to open parliament.

With regard to the OP's hat holder, I could never use it. Except in monsoons, my top is never up!

An electrical test lead with clips on each end works great as a hat catcher too. Used to get a package of them at Radio Shack for cheap. I got my first one as a gift on a tour many years ago when the gentleman passing them out called them "roach clips". His last name was Roach. That was many moons ago.

This is what Martin-Parry provided for holding hats on their deluxe country club body.
