There must be at least 100 cars in this photo with the majority Model T’s. Apparently the owners were not worried about damage to the cars…..

I wonder whether that is Alpine Texas, or Alpine California? It looks very much like our Alpine did in those days. I have been to Alpine Texas, but don't remember how it looks. It is down the Rio Grande area southeast of El Paso.

This is Alpine, Texas which is about 80-90 miles north of Big Bend National Park. The area is still very sparsely populated and I am amazed that many vehicles were in the area back in 1924.
Not a place to start a lawn mower repair shop!

Sul Ross, the man, was quite a character. He led a very interesting life.

‘Lawrence Sullivan Ross. 1838-1898. Soldier, Statesman, Knightly Gentleman. Brigadier General CSA. Governor of Texas and First President of the A&M College Sir’

Campusology I had to memorize back in ‘68...two years after acquiring my first Model T.😁

He was quite an Iowan, Texan, Confederate, and, not least, an exemplary American. (Probably due to be "canceled")
