Took the body off of my '25 to take care of some frame issues and when I took the drivers side front fender off I found this.

I suppose this is a support that someone made the studs are welded in the fender and are not visible from the top side but this was only done on the drivers side. The flat bar is not a perfect match to the contour of the fender but I suppose it is as good as it gets with a torch and a hammer

My guess is that's an original fender. I'm pretty sure most of the repops, that are mostly from Tom Rootlieb, have a large flat "backing plate" under the sheet metal, that the fender iron bracket is riveted to. I could be wrong...others may know better.

That's a repair, or someone added it to prevent the fender from cracking, which they often did under hard use. It's also possible someone added it to stiffen the fender so they could carry more cargo on the running board.
