Any thoughts on how warm the brake, reverse, and low drum should be after a half hour ride with 99.9% in high gear?

Probably those readings are about right considering the transmission is running the same oil that’s in the engine. T’s have a splash oil system that’s common to the engine and the transmission. On a hot day it may be hotter. Heat transfer fron the crankshaft, rods, pistons and all the moving parts is passed on to the rest of the engine.

Others will have other opinions I’m sure.

In my estimation , 🌡️🤒 looks correct.. you take into effect the coolant temperature of the engine around 190 to 200 plus all the warm oil all adds up. Plus ....you're running a pretty good fuel mixture , not too lean , not too rich.

That's right on the money. No problem.

Just never realized how warm the transmission gets. The faint smell of burning floorboard caused me to pull the floor out to discover how warm things get.
I'm going to have to wrap my exhaust pipe to keep from smelling like a rolling wood stove.

Keep a loose adjustment on those Kevlar bands in the transmission so the drums will not overheat and crack
