Hello all I'm considering the purchase of a 1915 model t chassis and engine. I'm looking to do a ww1 patrol car. I have one left front fender. I will need two rear fenders and a right hand front fender. I'm missing a hood as well. How hard are these items to find and how expensive? Thanks

I think at one time Hank had a complete set for a wide track. Not sure if that would work, or if he shipped it to China?

The earlier brass car fenders are fairly hard to find that are still good to use. The reproduction fenders that Rootlieb makes are pretty good and worth the money if it comes down to it. You also can look on Fordbarn. They have a section for Model T parts.

T fenders show up on Ebay also from time to time also.

Thanks good news is both front fenders are there. I will just need a hood and the two rears. Any good guide on what to look for on the rears as far as correct for the year?

Go to Rootlieb and use their reproduction fender and hood photos to give you an idea what they should look like for the particular year your trying to build. They are pretty much correct.

After spending a month of part time work fabricating rotted ends on 4 fenders, and repairing a myriad of rot-through spots in the rolled/crimped edges, a set of new fenders sounded like a bargain to me last year. My fenders are now perfect...dents dollied out, and welds are now invisible but LORD it was a ton of work for this amateur welder. It is a very poor bit of economics when weighed against pristine new fenders vs. any kind of living fair wage...I'd never do it for someone else, that's for sure, and I won't do it twice for myself, either.

Well if your not to picky I’ve got a good steel 1916 hood that looks in appearance to a 1915 though those are aluminum not steel. I also have a decent firewall for a 15/16. If it’s an early 15 it could have 14 style rear fenders or the 15 style which are unique to 1915/16 & hard to find. I paid $400 for a pair of the traditional 15/16 rears 7 years ago but they were perfect. Luckily I was able to pick them up at the Chickasha swap meet so shipping was not an expense that I had to pay. You might contact Mike Walker, he use to have a lot of 15 stuff. Good guy and I bought mine from him. Just so I’m not mistaken you just have the chassis, running gear/drive train and no body? Does the chassis running gear/drive train have a radiator? If no body or radiator you got serious expenses in those 2 items.

Does the chassis running gear/drive train have a radiator?

If not, I would try to find an original that looks good, and if it fails to cool because of fin separation, have it recored. You will retain the original look and save some dough. Most of the brass era Fords I see have new radiators, so I expect the replaced originals are not hard to find.

I have a 1915 parts car that has all four fenders, a hood, radiator etc. The hood is aluminum. If interested I will be able to take a closer look at it later today and give you an idea of condition, etc. I am in Utah so shipping will be a factor to be considered.

I believe I do have some rear fenders. I'll be out of town today but can check tomorrow. I'm in NW Arkansas. Your profile says TN, but not where in TN, so you could be close to AR or quite some distance away.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but visit the swap meets. It is surprising what you will find there. If you are not already a member of a local club in your area, it would be good to join. Many times members might have something or know someone who has what you want, and are much more likely to sell or give to members.

Thanks guys, I'm in East TN. Sounds like I've found a hood and a good lead on two rear fenders. Really appreciate everyone's help on this site. Everyone is always so great to help.
