2022 AACA Central Fall Nationals – East Moline, IL
Quick peek think there are 130 cars here Today. The convention center grounds are on an old Case IH Plant. Prior to that: W.H. Vandervoort and Orlando J. Root organized the Root & Vandervoort Engineering Company in 1899 to manufacture stationary and portable gas engines. In 1904 they organized the Moline Automobile Company to manufacture medium-sized cars. Moline built one of the earliest long stroke four-cylinder gas engines for cars. The Moline-Knight produced from 1911 to 1919 used a Knight engine. Also made in this area were the Moline, Deere-Clark, Velie, https://neildahlstrom.com/2021/02/28/th ... otor-city/
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Thanks for posting this-I just saw it but was at this great event. What a fantastic selection of cars on display=including some great Ts. Love the original unrestore3d 1911, and the Canadian built 1914 in completely original condition too. This same AACA Region will host the 2021 Annual Grand National and Zenith Car show next year. Thanks for posting those Frank. I don't get to many of the AACA events so it is nice to see these. I joined a dozen years ago and found it nice to get the magazine and have met some nice people as in all the clubs.
The Midget racer, the Velie Six and part of a Model F Buick particularly were fun.
Thanks so much.
Rich

When did I do that?
