Sorry no pictures today , but I will post some this week. Im going to see a 1913-14 race car that when I saw it last I was about 14, Im 64 now. The T was being restored and was almost done when it was sadly sold by its owner building a new home and no idea when he would finish it. He was a engineer at Rochester Products , carburetor division. I worked for him on the weekends and really liked this Ford. The car was sold around 1972 and I have only seen it once since then. The quality of the parts and workmanship was very high quality. The car is coming for sale now for the first time.
Here is what I remember about it. The chassis is underslung with the frame very low to the road. The motor was either a Rajo or Fronty 16 yalve head. The crank case was period and it has a aluminum deep sump pan. The crank shaft is a non T (maybe Ford B) balanced. The motor had full pressure lubrication with a outside oil pump if I remember correctly. It used a DU4 magneto. I dont remember anything about the carburetion.
The car had the stock transmission with a Warford behind it. I remember a large R cast into the case someplace. The wheels and tires were like new then and were Hause??? 5 of them I think with a single knockoff . The lamps , radiator and brass was either all new or perfect. I just dont remember. It had a fuel tank behind the 2 bucket seats that had beautiful diamond tufted leather cover. The rear brak drums were considerably over sized and not stock Ford. There were no fenders but some kind of brackets that fabric or leather covers stretched over. Im sure there was a large Jones speedometer. Id love to buy this car but not about to overpay for some dream I had 50 years ago. I know the car has been in very good storage the last 50 years. Im told the price is 20k. What are these parts worth if the car didnt come to fruition?? I will be posting pictures this coming week. Thanks Mike
