If anyone has any info on the jess. blker. Belt drive distributor let me know

I meant jess. Blker.

Used a Chevy Vega 4 cyl distributor, a pair of timing belt pulleys- one on the dist shaft and one on the cam nose. A simple bracket mounted the distributor horizontally with the cap to the rear. Pretty sure a few of them are out there still running.

I (somewhere) have a new, never installed a Jess Blaker distributor kit. Let me look in my lower building later today or tonite.

I copied the design. It was a cheap solution for a decent ignition.

does anyone have any information on these units i have parts but not the bearings

yes i have the bracket and a badly worn vega dist. made by jess blker. i bought a new dist.
but i would like to see how jess did the bearing

Here is my version of using the Vega distributor.
Gear driven.

Did you cast the body?

I machined it from two pieces of aluminum and then welded

For the shaft and bearings I bought what is referred to as a “water pump shaft “

The “traditional” approach to timing a automatic advance distributor is teeing a vacuum gauge into the system and adjusting the timing for maximum vacuum at idle
