This horn came in a box with my 1916 touring. It measures 6 1/2 " long and approx 4 1/2" diam. It is a Long Horn model T. The leaver pushes and pulls freely without making a sound. There are only 3 screws holding it together instead of 6. Is it repairable? Is it worth fixing, I did not get any horn with my T. If someone has an aooga horn for sale I would be interested.

Yes, with horns from the teens often priced well over $100, it's probably worth fixing. It's possible that a mechanical horn like that may even turn out to be an easy fix. It's certainly worth digging in to take a look. I doubt that you're shooting film in this day and age, and digital photos are essentially free. So, as you take things apart lay them out in order and take close-ups of how they go together for future reference.

As Steve says, it is well worth having a go at fixing it. I have fixed one myself and it turned out to be a fairly simple adjustment - there are not that many bits inside.

I thought it was a Model T with bull horns on the radiator cap. There are not many left because they tend to pull the neck off the radiator.

My dad paid $15 for a "broken" one at a tag sale. I fixed it in less than half hour.

That horn should be very easy to repair. Just take it apart and go from there. WhT can it hurt? The activating mechanism consists of a plunger connected to a straight piece with teeth that engages the teeth of a disc fitted with teeth that turns against an opposing serrated piece fastened to the center of a metal diaphragm that when rapidly turning produces the ahoogah sound. A spring fastened to the straight piece with the gears causes it to pop back up when released. It may be something as simple as being dirty or rusted and in need of a good cleaning and lubrication. Several things that might make it more difficult to repair is if several of the teeth are broken or worn off or if the return spring is broken, but it should be fun to take a look and give it a try. Took it apart and the 2 waffle shaped pieces are missing. Does anyone know where I can get parts for this horn?
