More spares to pack

The MTT tools & spares list says timer parts without specifying which ones. I'm packing three #3207 pins (former shingle nails). If you drop one on the ground you will never see it again. Even on a paved surface, it's likely to bounce off to some other planet or dimension.

I don't find casting/freeze plugs on the list either. I'm taking those too. I had one leak on a trip, but I was lucky. It didn't fall out completely. I'm not counting on always being that lucky.

Steve, No reason carry spare pins. You actually don’t need it for anything but a convenience of indexing. Visually line up the hole and slot, then tighten the nut. It won’t move.

That's what makes the forum great. I'm always learning new stuff. :)

I had a worn out roller on a T some years back (at least I was carrying spare roller!). Went on a tour, car was running rough. Went to change the roller, and sure enough, dropped the pin. As Steve J said, it wound up in some alternate dimension. So I found a twig from a tree branch, found a section about the right diameter, and using pliers or wire cutters, cut it to length. Installed the roller and tightened the nut. Finished the day.
After getting home, I cut another nail and changed it.
