Barnyard paint job

Following the Rich Eagle school of brush painting, I'm painting the pickup box conversion for my 1913 roadster. It's pleasant working outdoors. Using One-Shot lettering enamel (alkyd) I was able to get a reasonable match to the body color. First photo in the white, then first coat on the underside of the box.

Is the PU box a ready made or did you build it. Looks pretty good.

I built it, John. Thanks for the kind words. The ironwork came from Snyders, not exactly what I had in mind, as I was going to have a local blacksmith forge the parts to my specs, but that didn't work out. The lumber I got from a friend who had some native poplar logs sawn into planks.

Rich: You wouldn't have the original side curtains for that car would you?

I think this is the Accessory PU bed that Snyder’s has. It looks like it to me.

Yup. The parts from Snyders are patterned after the Cleveland Forgings kit. Understandably, they are not forgings, but welded fabrication except for the tailgate latches. The rear bolsters are cleverly made by welding the "S" member to a carriage bolt. In all, very serviceable. I wish the welds had been fussed with a little better to mock forgings, but I'm grateful they're available. Sure saved me a lot of trouble, and they're beautifully finished, probably powder coated.
