Size of pitman arm and tie rod balls?

With the steering all apart I can upgrade anything that needs it. I measured the pitman arm and tie rod balls. They look ok (not too worn) but they are both a bit out of round. But, I don’t know how big new unworn ones are so I can’t really judge how worn they are. The drag link had a bent penny in both ends so there is some wear in the system. It would be easy/cheap to buy install new ones.

Yes. Replace any of the worn and used old front end parts with new. Lots depends on the front steering gear, loose joints only lead to grief.

New ones are nice and round, 1" o.d. and are made very good, if you can find NOS, then the pitman arm and drag link ball would be best, but heck, we can't order from Ford anymore

Yes absolutely all the front end parts, Bushings, pitman and etc.

Just a slightly worn pitman arm, or tie rod balls translate to a lot of slack when it ends up at the steering wheel. Most of the time when all new bushings and etc are replaced you will think why didn’t I do this to begin with.

That’s my thinking. The parts are pretty cheap and I have it apart already. I am adding Apco caps to the drag link. To deal with any wear in the Rod.
