I do not doubt you, but I have certainly never heard of such a thing.

BTW, I have them as an insurer and with one claim under my belt can whole-heartedly endorse having them. They were great.

The only thing that surprised me about them was when I moved from FL to WY, since each Insurance Company operates independently in each state, I had to reapply for insurance, including photographs, and they acted like they didn't know a thing about me...20 years of coverage in FL and yet I was a new customer who had to jump through more hoops than just changing the state printed on the card... :?

Are you perhaps over-insuring it? Something just simply doesn't sound right.

That sounds absurd to me. Was any reason given for the requirement?

What is your car, and what perils are you seeking to insure against, and what condition is the finish in?

New Canadian vehicles are being sold with an optional $1000 or so clear coat that apparently has some great benefit, therefore, a cost saving to the claims department. I wonder if the "agent" is somehow thinking every policy is included. It would be for their bottom line, not yours.

They insure all three of my T's through the Formost Insurance Co. I have not had an accident nor any claim on the cars, however on one trip in Sierra Vista Arizona, I was trying to reach a tool through the Rumble Seat, conversion in my 26 Roadster and I hit the support. The lid immediately slammed shut. I pulled out my arm and hand, however about 1/2 inch of my finger still remained below the lid and it sliced the tip so it was just hanging by skin. I was driven to the ER where they stitched it back on. My medical insurance wouldn't cover it. They said it happened on a car so I should report it to my car insurance. The hospital bill was $1,000. Formost paid $900 and then my medical insurance picked up the $100. So I had no out of pocket.

I suggested the value at ten thousand. Nothing extra on the application. I even asked for collision only. Agent said they don't offer collision only.what ever, I'll try Hagerty.

If you have a "something" only insurance, it is usually liability only, not collision only. Forget about the value of the car, you want to protect you life savings, your house and everything you own in case of a law suite.
I have Liability only (and maybe some minimal level of required comprehensive), .... for somewhere around $150 a year.
