I had the opportunity to acquire these tire irons from the estate of the late Phil Knighton, along with some speedometers and clocks. I was unaware of the variety of tire irons produced by tire manufacturers. I know that some of these tire irons were included in early Ford tool kits (Diamond and Firestone) but I don't know if any others were included in the kits. Russ Furstnow

I'm only commenting on the Diamond brand, because that is what Ford seemed to use, although it seems logical the ones pictured in the parts books could certainly be Firestone or even Fisk. I've seen two different designs of Diamond tire irons. Some have a bump toward the end, and some don't.

This Diamond tire iron has the "bump." The Diamond tire iron is illustrated in the early parts books, but that does not mean that was the only one that was used in the tool kits. Another example of this is that the 1915 Accessory Parts booklet illustrated only the Jones speedometer, and we know there were four other brands of speedometers used in 1915.

I have only found Goodyear irons in Australia. I have two surplus to requirements, but they are not a matched pair. One has a longer depression for the Goodyear script than the ones Russ shows.
