Is it still possible to purchase a 28 Chevy head adapter plate or kit? I've looked at some posts about it but they are quite old. Hopefully somebody still makes one. Thanks

Neal Jern used to manufacture an entire kit to adapt a four cylinder, overhead valve Chevrolet, or Oldsmobile, head to a Model T block. He used to have a space every year at the Bakersfield Meet.
Sadly, Mr Jern passed away several years ago, but if I recall correctly, his son was selling the kits and parts that were left over after his father's passing.
I don't know if there's anything left as I have not seen such a setup for sale lately at the meets.

Mike.

Gene French used to sell an adapter plate, but don't know about now.

You might email Hank Lee and see if he has one.
He is no longer active here but Chevy with Ford inbreeding is his thing!

Gene French designed an adapter with some improvements over the Jern plate. Gene turned the manufacturing over to a neighbor, Scott Hansen who made a small run of the adapters. They are very well made, but Scott found that it was so time consuming to machine the adapters, with a limited market for them that he quit making them. The kits from Scott included all the hardware and a machined water outlet to mate to the T radiator. Chad Marchees had a thread on this site about his build with the Hansen/French adapter that is pretty extensive.

I am lucky enough to have purchased one of the kits from Scott and it is still in the bubble wrap awaiting a speedster build. I was going to use it on my current 19 roadster project, but when I inspected the engine, found it was completely rebuilt with modern valves, hardened seats, all decked and clean, so didn't have the heart to chuck the good valve work. You might try Hank, I recently purchased a Jern down draft intake manifold for the chevy head, a chevy exhaust manifold and an exhaust S pipe to route from the manifold, from him. He was pretty adamant about getting out of the T stuff, but talk to him, he is a nice guy.

Unless Gene and or Scott have gotten into this again, as far as I know there isn't anyone making an adapter.

Van

I have one left over from my sprint car restoration projects. I will look for it tomorrow.
