Magneto coil rebuilder
Does anyone rebuild magneto coil rings. I know the parts suppliers sell rebuilt ones but is anyone doing at their own shop since Wally S. passed away a few years ago?

Re: Magneto coil rebuilder
Thanks for the information! Appreciate it. I’m thinking about putting together one more engine and have a couple of decent looking mag rings but don’t want to take a chance with a “good used one”.

Re: Magneto coil rebuilder
They are the only people still doing them, as far as I know about, and they are doing an excellent job.
I bought two of their rebuilt coils at the Luray meet and two more after I got home, as they looked so good and spares might be difficult to find later, like the copper head gaskets are now.

Re: Magneto coil rebuilder
I think it’s right at $200 but that was at Chickasha this year before the inflation started showing up in materials. I bought 2.

Re: Magneto coil rebuilder
I would NEVER redo a coil for what folks charge retail for the work...it is a gift to the hobby.
