Thread Count for Crankcase Plug

Does anyone know the thread count for the 3/4" crankcase plug? The fine thread for 3/4" is 16, but this is finer than that. I found the mention of a 3/4" "extra-fine" thread, which is 20 tpi. Is that what the plugs are? I need to get a tap to clean out the threads in mine.

Part #3080 3/4-24 tpi. It is the same as the differential oil plug #2532

Rich -- Part number 3080 at Lang's is the plug, but the listing doesn't mention the thread count. I have plugs but need a tap the right size. If you're sure that it's 24 tpi, I'll go ahead and order one. (Edit) I now see that you've posted a chart with that info. Thanks!

24 threads is correct. Otis Clinton used to have a tap for that. I wonder if they are available?

An old boy made a rethread die out of an old drain plug. The threaded end has 5 or 6 hacksaw cuts that act as cutting edges. It does work & costs nothing but an old knackered plug.

I still have that tap of Otis', Larry ! I also have a complete Stevens kit to "oversize" both c.c. and rear axle housing.

Mike-
Remember, there are a "baffles" on each side of the drain hole. You might need to use a round file or use a Driemle tool to get clearance for the tap.
