This is from our Club calendar for November. Seems to me that the huntsman and his lady friend are below 4ft height!

Well, they say that people were smaller then.... and of course, the Brits get no sun, thus no vitamin D, so perhaps they were smaller yet. I know one thing, whoever designed the interior ergonomics for the "improved" Ford roadster was either a midget or a sadist.

Sadist.

The problem with the "Improved" Ford was the same length chassis as the earlier cars but the new placement of the gas tank moved the knee room back toward the seat. So people with long legs had more problems. I can fit in it just fine, but I have a long torso and short legs.

Two weeks ago, I took a 20-something guy for a drive in my '26 Runabout. He had never been around a Model T before. I explained during the drive that we can be friends when we leave but we will be close buddies when we get back. I told him that as we were bumping shoulders on the rough drive. Yes, it's tight.

Talking about folks being shorter back in the Model T days but I’ve found this must have still been the case in the 1940’s
I’m very keen to buy a Ford Jeep from WW2 Days but there isn’t enough leg room to get into it!
The rear wheel arch continues into the vehicle directly behind the drivers seat and no way of changing it.
Boy oh boy, Sgt Saunders of Combat TV series must have been a shorty and not over 6 Foot like me

Being that the proportions of the car are relatively correct I would say the illustrator was competent enough. The smaller people give the illusion of the car being bigger and probably done as a selling point. I have been fortunate to fit a Model T very comfortably, but some consider me short.

I have rarely found any particular advantage to being shorter than many other men (I'm 5'7"), but I fit very comfortably in my Model T.
