I have 23 Z tools. I would like to learn their usages and their value. I also have a very nice original round gas tank with brackets and bulb for sale.

I can't set a value for you, as prices vary widely. But I can refer you to the the Model T Encyclopedia for a list of all tools and their names.

Rumor has it that there is a special set of Z Tools for the wire wheels.

I have never been able to find them.

There is a Z wire wheel rear hub puller & a long handled "T" wrench for w.w. lug nuts.

see chart for tool numbers - tool shape is under the number. You can update with Z tool #. I don't believe they are listed

Thank you for the charts which show 3Z tools. All of the tools that I have are 5Z. Would 5Z be for Model A?

Ford updated their tool numbers - I believe some Model A tools are Z also.

Two tools have T numbers: T 2839 and T5893. There is also 9N 17014 which is likely a tractor tool.

Early versions of some of the tools had T numbers. These same tools later were given a Z number eg the camshaft nut wrench was T2333 which became 3Z655 and then 5Z162.

In addition to some early T tools that transitioned to 3Z tools; some 3Z tools transitioned to 5Z tools, yet all serve the same purpose.

The numbering system changed around 1920, going from the 3Z prefix to the 5Z. All 3Z tools are Model T and 5Z tools can be for the Model T or the Model A, just depends on the looking up the number to find their application (A vs. T). But don't forget about the 16Z, 24Z and 28Z tools.

T2839 is the wire wheel lug wrench. You could also use 5Z-161. They are both "T" shaped wrenches.
T5893 is the wrench for the spark plug and the cylinder hesd cap screws.
