A friend of mine replied to a Facebook marketplace ad about a 1916 T (Touring). The seller quit responding when asked details about the engine and could they meet to see the car. Here is the original post https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 643128103/

What do you guys think? Either he is a really bad salesman or running some sort of scam.

Have we seen this before?

What kind of responses did your friend give the seller when the seller was answering his questions?.. could be the seller decided to sell to someone else.

He was contacted by the seller since he had expressed interest in it some time ago. He asked the seller what the engine number was and if you had to crank it, also could they meet to see it. The guy responded two days later and said he forgot to look for the engine number and he will try to remember to look for it. That was the last he heard from him.

Could be he changed his mind about selling the car

It doesn’t surprise me for FB market place. I’ve parted ways with all my 1960s ford parts thru my wife’s account and the questions and responses you get daily are maddening! Glad I ran out of parts. You never know what is going on in peoples lives. Maybe his wife wants him to sell it and he’s doing what he can to keep it around

The Seller has been on FB since 2009


I buy from Facebook Marketplace.
Like any other resource you have
to buy or sell things - common sense
needs to be applied …

I won't get into the details but it appears to be an early 1918 that has been dolled-up to look like a 1916.
