A friend has a 1920 coupe with suicide doors and movable quarter widows. The inside window trim has a slot for the pull strap to open and close the windows but everything else is missing. Anyone have some nice pictures they can post of what the complete pull strap set up should be for the door and quarter windows?

The 1920 should be like the 1921 I had, the windows are either open or closed, there is no in-between. Pretty simple, there is a loop on the bottom of the glass channel that the strap mounts to. The strap is fed up though the slot in the trim piece and just hangs. Rear one on the package shelf, front through the trim piece slot then down through/behind door pull cross bar. Open the windows sit on rubber bumpers at bottom of channel, closed they sat on the little shelfs at the top. I have photos saved or did have at one time but can't find of the lower glass channel.

I had to guess on mine but here is what I did. I believe it is pretty close.

I put several holes in the strap for different window heights.

My dad's suicide door coupe had the window either closed, or dropped fully open with a strap...and I recall that the rear-side windows lowered progressively with a spring-loaded handle which latched into a series of detents to allow partial opening of varying degrees. When closed, the door window lifted up and over a metal ledge on the interior, caught by a metal lip on the bottom of the window. It was a very positive closure with no holes, hooks or loops in the draw-strap.

In 1974 it was all original in excellent shape yet we always wondered when the strap would let go and allow the window to crash open (it never did)
