I looked at a Model T engine that has a cast iron head, a P next to the water outlet and made in USA & ford script on it. Did Prus make a head with those markings?

The Prus head is aluminum.

My understanding is that there are 2 cast iron Prus heads in existence. I have one!

I think Kevin made several cast-iron heads. I have one also.

You could just call him he has an ad in the club magazine.

Likely it’s a std. Ford head, all of them have letters at the upper end of the riser to the outlet. The fact it has Ford script and USA confirms it is a stock Ford iron head, as Kevin doesn’t mark with Ford trademarks as those require license.

I have an iron head with a ‘Z’ in that spot, but the head is stock Ford. Ford used letters to mark casting dies, and the placement is always at the outlet, so Kevin used that same spot to mark his new alum high compression head.

I have a cast iron Prus head also.

I have an aluminium Prus head, with Made in Canada and a Ford script! It's marvelous what can be done with some Devcon and a Dremel tool.

You should be able to differentiate the combustion chambers. It would be obvious compared to a stock head.

Do your Prus heads have ford script on them? The question is probably mute as I found the brake band material half missing with some
galling of the drum so it's coming out & down.

Wrong about the two iron Prus heads.; just ask Kevin for details. Recently on the forum, Ed Baudoux stated he had one. On this thread, Jerry Kramer and Dale Myers have stated that they have one. I have one, also. I purchased mine from Kevin at Chickasha, years, maybe a decade ago. I had made the purchase before Chickasha and since he was coming down for it, and I was going to it, he brought the head to me to save me the freight on a heavy iron head. He brought several of the last batch of iron heads that he had. They were all pre-sold. When he met me, he told me mine was the last iron head that he had. So, to sum it up, there were a lot more than two made, although the total number made still qualifies them as rare as hen's teeth.

Now, to answer the question of this original post; to my understanding from Kevin, none of his heads, iron or aluminum, ever had Ford anywhere on them to avoid licensing problems and costs with FoMoCo. If the head that is referred to in this original post is a high compression head, then someone other than Kevin mad it. If the head was just seen bolted to a block, and the bottom of the head was not seen, then it can't be assumed it is a high compression head. To my understanding, in all the years of Model T production, original heads were cast with VARIOUS alphabetic letters cast on the top of the head, just behind the water outlet connection. It is very possibly one letter used was a 'P'.
