Turnaround trip

Post by FreighTer Jim » Tue Apr 30, 2019 12:53 pm

That is a short local trip of less than 300 miles.

If don’t have a tow vehicle and/or a trailer - you can hire someone
at the pickup or drop off location to drive both ways.

If you have a tow vehicle just rent a trailer. If you don’t, rent a U-Haul or similar

Go to yesterday's tractor on the left side of the page it has hauling on the list, you can try that. Bill

The stuff is really contagious. You may have picked up a more virulent strain at Chickasha.

That is a shame Sir,

A day or two before your post, I delivered a 35 Dodge Conv. to a very good customer/friend in Kerrville & my next pickup point was north of you. I could have got it to you probably the same day. They say timing is everything, I hope you get someone you can trust to safely bring it to you!

God Bless

Does it run? Is it roadworthy at all? If it is, have someone take you to it, drop you off and drive it home. You can do it two days easily. Just a thought

That’ll be a 540 mile round trip for me Ignacio but I’ll do it if/when I get my newly ordered F-250 in. Should be in 2-3 weeks. You want open or closed trailer?
I don’t know why I turned out this way. My parents were decent people.

I have a 2015 Toyota Sienna which has 3500 pounds of towing capacity. U-haul will rent me a 2 wheel tow dolly to tow a Model T they will not rent me a car trailer due to 5000 lb capacity hitch system requirement. Can I safely tow it this way? I have read in the past ways to safely do this including take the plugs out make sure it has oil for head first operation. If I reverse it I would have to figure out a way to secure the steering in a straight way.

I usually have a 2003 F150 sitting around that I use to go to haul stuff around and I'd let you use it to haul a trailer there and back. But, my daughter is using it all summer to run back and forth to Dallas.

I have used Total Care Transport on a few occasions. While based out of the Northwest - they have provided good transportation for me from the west coast to Kansas City, and also from there to Idaho, as well as KC to Atlanta. They have transporters all over the USA. Call Elwood for pricing at 503-380-7566. you can also look them up at totalcaretrans.com

Skunked! Went to pick it up. I had trailer arranged. Seller new I was coming. I called 2 hours away to be informed that it was sold before I could close the deal. Went to LBJ library in Austin as a consolation to see the LBJ Model T only to be informed that it is no longer on display. Gonna need therapy.
