24 Model T Coupe: There is a button to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Any thoughts of what it does? I hope i can attach a picture.

Its a push/pull light switch 1915 - 1917 . was mounted to the right of coil boxes on the dash(firewall). It might be used form some other function

It might have been for a spotlight. I have used switches on the dash to cut power to the generator when cutouts were faulty. It obviously was added at some time after production.
I'm glad for those not afraid to ask.

Is it just the switch, or are there wires you can follow?

See if you can see any screw holes on the side of the door posts. There may have a spotlight or something like it mounted years ago.
But put you hand under the dash and see if there are wires on the backside of the switch. Maybe you can wiggle or pull them a little and have someone look under the hood where the wiring block is. That’s probably where any wires would have been. That switch is located on the same side of the car as the wiring block is.

Be careful until you trace the wires, an ex fighter pilot may have owned the car..

I would expect a wire from the terminal block to the switch, and another from the switch to whatever accessory it's for. If the accessory is gone, that second wire might lead to its location and suggest what it was.
