Are Model T's supposed to be positive ground?

No - negative ground - Model A started with positive ground.

If your Model T was running on positive ground, I'm sure your ammeter shows discharge instead of charge while running. Reverse the battery terminals to negative ground and before starting just connect the output of your cutout to the Post connection on the generator very briefly to polarize generator , this way the generator will be charging properly.

The correct answer as stated is they are negative ground. It would help to understand the basis of the question before responding to suggestions.

After you get the wiring correct, Your first running may show a dead generator requiring re-polarization.
