26 touring Help with the windshield

So my 26 Touring has nickel windshield stanchions that are not on the car. In looking where they go one side of the body has three holes like the stanchion the other has two. I looked on the back side of the metal and could not see any evidence of a third hole that may have been filled in. The car did not have the windshield in it when I got it. Should it be drilled?

Also looking at how the steering column is installed I noticed a hole in the dash that is covered up is this how the steering column supposed to be attached? The previous owner used the wrong head screws.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Here is what it is supposed to look like. I think you have too many steering column holes and not enough for your winshield stantions. Also, your stantions should be painted black. Hope thi

Here is what the body looked like when I purchased it. The brackets fit here

You can see the holes drilled for the windshield posts and also the windshield posts bolted on. The only bracket inside is the one under the steering column. That bracket over the steering column on your car is from some other model.

Thanks for the pictures. I wonder what year bracket is on my car? If the guy before me drilled the dash then I won't feel bad drilling it for a clock later. Makes me also wonder why there is no third hole???

If i were to guess, when you get it apart you will find a patch on the back side. Go ahead and drill a new hole.
