Chrome in the Dome 2023

Our local club supports a car show in Pocatello that helps support ISU's Automotive program. We also sustain a couple scholarships there.
Joy manages a club booth, so we are obligated to go. I always admire the chrome and creative efforts of all who show cars but find two days of the show a bit tedious except for seeing old friends there. This year a 1907 Model F Buick was a real treat to see. The similarities in it and my Model G made it worth being there. Visiting with it's caretaker was good. It has been 40 miles from me, but I had no idea there was another one that close til I met him last year. Right under my nose. His Brother brought this nice T also. We sat and watched 5 club cars and recruited some new members. People love the little Nash and the novelty of the Corvair rear engine. Folks are entertaining at shows and helps break the monotony. There also was a '31 Model A Phaeton there. I have been dreaming about having a '30 and could afford one now. Sadly, it wouldn't be practical to get another car without getting rid of some first. But the dream is enticing. The reality is I need to concentrate on keeping what I have going. The change of getting out amongst the enthusiasts and breaking the routine helps one sort out the real world from my hermit's daily chores.
