Why Can I Not Post Photos?
Why can't I post photos that are taken with my phone in vertical position?

I agree it’s annoying… but the pixel size restrictions favor landscape pics. Simply rotate rod pics and they should load… or reduce the resolution in your settings

Re: Why Can I Not Post Photos?
When I started seeing the "landscape" and "portrait" designations in recent years I was mystified, but eventually figured out they mean horizontal and vertical. (When did we adopt the British term roundabout for traffic circles? And start saying "graduate high school" and "year anniversary"?)
Anyway, when I have a vertical photo show up turned horizontal I go back to the original and rotate it 90º left, then back 90º right (or vice versa) and it posts correctly. I have no idea why this works, but it does.

First: The software that the Forum restrict you to a maximum upload file size prior to converting it for efficient storage. Don't know what that is
I tried a few methods
The first was to select the file directly from my iPhone that got the yellow triangle (note the image appears upright ion the phone - but sideways in the file folder - that has nothing to do with the issue
--Next was to copy-n'paste from the iPhone to my lap top and the select it without resizing - the file was relative large but was loaded successfully
--The image size is displayed by right clicking on the photo. Notice the significant reduction.
--Lastly the space around the photo would suggest that a large rectangular image could be displayed.
-
Not sure if the small difference in file size between is iphone & copied file would have caused the yellow triangle or something else (think that was discussed before). So it may not always be necessary to reduce the size

This shows the file size on the iPhone --

It's that kind of thinking that almost ruined this country!
Actually, that's thinking like an engineer

Since humans are 60% water, it is obvious that if there was just a little more in that glass, you'd need to put diapers on it.

Re: Why Can I Not Post Photos?
I wouldn't even know whether or not you can load directly from your phone. However all my pictures are loaded into the computer under My Pictures. Whether or not they came from a phone or from someone else's e-mail. My wife does Facebook and she sometimes loads the pictures to MY pictures. I take them from My pictures directly to the forum. Then I preview them If they come out the way I want, I then submit. If not, I resize or rotate on photo shop and then preview them again. If I like what I see, I submit. A little work, however, almost all pictures are fine just as I have them in My pictures without any changes.
