Horn Wire Connection

The attached photos show the horn button pieces for my 1927 coupe, and the new connection wires.

The original wires were attached to the two screws by twisted bare wire. The ends of the new wires are different than I expected. What is the best way to connect them to the screws?

What are holes in the vertical pieces for? Should the wires go thru them? The existing wires did not.

The two new wires are not the same length. One is too short to reach the horn button, so will have to order another. I have no idea why they would come in two different lengths.

If you want to you could crimp on two small eyes on the bare wires or cut the wire back just a little more and apply some solder so you twist the soldered wire in a loop and attach them to Horn button screws.
The two holes in the vertical pieces are where the bolt goes through to clamp the metal horn bracket together.

Thanks for the two quick responses! They tell me how to proceed.

I should have known what the holes were for, but now I know.

Bruce, braid the horn wire and coil box wire together from the firewall out.

Best of luck. I have never been able to get my button back on the shaft so that it works. I finally just bought a different button that sits on top of the shaft.
