Tire White Walls

What is the best way to remove the "blue" from my new tire white walls?
Dish soap and water and a nylon scrub brush should suffice.
Years ago on modern cars, I always used Westleys Bleche-Wite and a brass bristle whitewall brush on new whitewalls to remove the blue protectant and as part of my regular car washing routine. However, Bleche-Wite is caustic (or at least back then it was) and, over time, does more harm than good to the whitewall. It can also damage paint.
