I haven’t traveled outside of town, but there has been one place on my bucket list. A place my family had a tradition of going in spring time to see the wildflowers In this season, for just a few weeks, Californian foothill have patches of color because of all the beautiful wildflowers! A wonderful backdrop for a Model T.
Enjoy!

I did ID them. They are flowers! I didn’t think people would want to see flowers here, but I did get some photos.
Using your chart, this looks like a Four Spot:
Lupine:
Poppies:
Not sure on these:

A lot of people here like to see beautiful and interesting places other people's model Ts take them to see!
Of course there are a few hard noses that think only model Ts should be pictured here. A wise idea is to be sure you have a few pictures of the T included. Maybe about one or two T photos for every three or four pictures of where you went?
Model Ts are almost magical! They have an incredible way of connecting their caretakers to history, both personal and general, as well as other things in the natural universe! Some would say that any place your model T helps connect to you? Is model T related.
And yes, the foothills are wonderful this time of year.

What is the river? It's got a pretty good flow and by the looks of the trees in the background, it hasn't been this high in a while.

1974 was a great spring for wildflowers. I suppose there was more winter and spring rain that year than usual. The south end of the San Joaquin Valley and the Tehachapi foothills had miles of lupines, poppies, and other wildflowers of various colors. Unfortunately, a lot of that pasture land in the valley has since been converted to agriculture.

Matt, Those pictures look like they were taken below Pine Flat Dam, on the Kings River, just off Belemont Avenue, or their abouts. Great pictures, it looks like you had a nice spring drive in your 1926 touring. Out in Madera Ca the hills are still green and colorful with flowers unlike the usual turning brown of a normal late April.

Bingo Kevin is correct! Now bonus points for where I took the panarama photo.
Steve,
I managed to plant lupines (along with poppies) in my back yard. It looks amazing for a few weeks!

I picked a garbage bag of wild Lupine pods a couple falls ago and planted them in my center island along with wild milkweed. Last year a few of the lupines bloomed but this yer they should be spectacular. My intent was a “pollinator” garden for the bees, butterfly's and hummingbirds. With our short growing season, the plants all have to be native and cold hardy.

Spring has sprung! What I enjoy is driving the back roads in the spring... we have lilac and other flowering bushes and when driving slowly in an open car you get full benefit of the wonderful scent. The wildflowers and leaves popping out on the trees makes for a glorious time of year.
