Can anybody post photos of this unit showing the fitting which threads into the pan, and to which this barrel is fitted?
I need to make 6 of them, so I might as well make them as they were made originally, rather than just making my own fitting to do the job. Allan from down under.

I'd use a heavy pipe nipple there. The standard ones are very thin at the thread roots.

Lots of folks like to comment about the risk of the little sight glass gauge that I use breaking off it sure is a good comment that Scott posted about using a substantial mounting bracket to support all that weight on such a small nipple!

RDR, Ralph Ricks always posted about his use if a sheet metal screw inserted into the nipple to prevent quick loss of oil in case it breaks off. If sized just right the level could read ok but the open flow would be in drips?..

That's the ticket Scott. I was averse to using a brass fitting, given the weight of these devices. The wrap round support bracket makes good sense too. Odd that it does not appear in the advertisement. If I have to make those too, the time taken will add up.
