Need Input

I'm getting ready to put the engine back in my '17 touring and have a question. In sealing the coupling ring that holds the ball around the universal joint to the engine do you recommend:
1- The paper gasket installed dry
2- The paper gasket coated with grease
3- The Paper gasket installed with permatex 2
4- The paper gasket installed with ultra black or the like
5- No paper gasket - ultra black only.
• Other.....

With the ball free to move in the coupling I'm sure that a perfect seal is impossible. I know I'm dreaming but I actually hope to greatly reduce leakage from the engine and drive train

Dry, no gasket. That gasket is placed between the 4th main cap and the hogshead.

There isn't gasket or sealant as anything there will just displace the torque tube ball cap rearward which you don't want.

Sorry Dan, I guess my description was poor.... I was talking about the gasket that goes on the cap that attaches the "ball" to the fourth main on the back of the hogshead - the gasket you were referring to.

The photo shows the cap I'm referring to (arrows)
