How do you buy blockley tires how much would they cost shipped

Tell Blockley what you want and they'll prepare a quote that you can accept or reject. Keep your order under $800, even if you have to split the order. If you do split, I'd suggest waiting until the first arrived before ordering the second. By doing this you avoid custom fees and hassle.

Ok thanks gentlemen how long does it take to get them?

I ordered 2 30-31/2 on the 14th and I received them on the 20th total cost to Va-517.00

I forgot to mention....the $800 I referred to does not count the shipping cost, just the product cost.

It all sounds confusing but its pretty straight forward. I've been trying to gather accurate information but have yet to see an import document with the information

The final cost of the tires depends on the currency exchange rate at the time the transaction is executed by the payer (credit card company or PayPal). The exchange rate doesn't vary very much either way from the time you order to the time Blockley bills for it. So don't worry about that

+ import duty (if under $800 the its $0.00 - If over $800 looks like about 4%
then there may be other charges depending on how you pay - if you use a credit card directly there may be a small fee for currency conversion. But in the PayPal example PayPal did the currency conversion and passed on USD to to credit card company

Avoiding import duty (your choice)
Currently members try to keep an order (including shipping) below $800 to avoid paying an import duty. In the first example the total was over that &
only $45 were charged for import duty (per the member). In the second example there was no import duty but a PayPal fee for processing see explanation

Here is an example from members
Ordered four (4) 30 x 3 1/2 Blockley Tires. The cost of the four tires was $864.79, shipping was $210.39 and the import duty was $45.01 for all four. Total $1,120.19 or a bit over $280 per tire delivered. arrived in 3 weeks

Ordered two (2) tyres (30 x 3) through the Blockley website. Later that morning (Tuesday) my card was charged. The amount was about $25 more than the cost of tyres (£298) plus shipping (£116).
Here's the $25
PayPal paid Blockley and then charged the credit card for the currency exchange plus 4.5% - There would be a saving of 4.5% ifs the PayPal Balance would have covered the cost of the order. Easy to transfer money from a Bank Account to a PayPal account using PayPal's process
(£298) plus (£116) = £414 to 504.12 USD, $504.12 x 4.5% = $22.69 + $2.31 for the currency conversion = $25

So which method comes out to be cheaper to end up with 4 new tires?

Method 1
4 tires + shipping + import tax

Method 2
2 tires + shipping + NO import tax
2 tires + shipping + NO import tax

If the Brits would get rid of the pound and use dollars we would not have to worry about conversion costs and the math involved.

I’m posting another data point, or experience if you will, on ordering tires from Blockley. Last Thursday I ordered four 21” x 440/450 tires and they arrived on my doorstep in Tulsa on Wednesday. The cost for the tires was $745, based on the currency exchange rate of $1.25 per British Pound. The shipping was $421, which seemed high to me, but Blockley explained that the 21” tires were heavier and wider than 30 x 3.5” tires. The carrier was UPS International and I believe the shipping quote from UPS included a fee for doing the import paperwork. It all went seamlessly. No import duty tax was required – I’m guessing the $800 limit on duty free importing is based on the merchandise only and does not include shipping costs.

In summary the total costs were $745 + $421 = $1,166, or $291.50 per tire. I didn’t get inner tubes from Blockley as their 21” tubes do not come with 3” stems.

I've recently emailed Blockley, and have had several nice emails from Julian, the owner. I'm impressed with the quality of his tubes. They are nice and heavy like they used to make them. The problem for me is the valve stems. They are not correct for Model T's, and therefore I'm unable to use them. Julian has assured me, eventually they will offer rubber valve stems so I can cut them off as I've been doing for years to be able to use factory valve stems.

Who sells Hartford tubes? Lucas isn't far from me, but he doesn't offer them.

Langs did sell them not long ago. I assume they still do.
