I'm in need of a spare tire and rim for my trailer. Will eventually be replacing all four tires since they're old but in good shape. I'm fairly new to trailering, have attached a screenshot of an offering from Amazon. Price seems reasonable. Any opinion on quality and/or price? Other sources I should be looking at?

I have a Dico trailer. They had an outlet locally.
I got great tires with new rims already mounted for less than I could get tires only @ pep boys.

When buying a new or used wheel for a trailer with 14" or 15" wheels and tires, pay specific attention to the lug bolt pattern of the trailer's hub. It may be any one of at least 3 different patterns. The typical trailer uses a wheel/hub pattern with a 4.5" bolt circle, same as most Fords from the 1950's to the switch over to the metric system. I think some Chrysler products used this 4.5" B.C. pattern, also. The other 2 common wheel bolt circle patterns are G.M. patterns, either 4.75" (like Chevrolet), or 5" (like Buick, Olds, and Pontiac). I didn't see the bolt circle mentioned in the ad that you posted. Other suppliers that you might check, if looking for a bargain are: Walmart, Tractor Supply, and Northern Tool and Equipment.

This is just F.Y.I. and is my personal preference, but the taller or bigger the diameter of the tire and wheel on a trailer (or any vehicle), the less revolutions the tire and wheel will make over a given distance, thus the less wear on wheel hub bearings. Until I sold it, I had the same trailer for 50 years and it had 15" wheels and I ran either N78x15 or 7.00x15 tires on it. The trailer didn't see regular use (only maybe once a month), but it made long trips from Houston to Colorado Springs, Houston to Omaha, Houston to Charlotte, Houston to New Jersey, New Jersey to Marion, Ohio, and Houston to Carlisle and many shorter trips within the state of Texas. I never had a wheel bearing failure in 50 years.

The only drawback to running large diameter tires is, it increases the loading deck height of the trailer (unless your trailer deck has a dovetail) and it will increase the loading angle to the trailer, requiring longer ramps. I never had a problem as I used 12 foot ramps off of a commercial car transport to load with.

Thanks for the replies. I do have a TSC store nearby and they get a lot of my business. From what I remember, when I checked their wheels and tires they didn't have my size in stock. I'll look into ordering online and having it sent there. My trailer is a dovetail style, sixteen-foot, very happy with it. I've hauled my modern car as well as my Model T Touring on it and it does well. Just been putting off buying a spare tire and wheel--preferably two--but I have an upcoming trip that's a little over 100 miles each way and I don't want to end up on the side of the road. I would not advise having an 8 ply or D load range
trailer tire as either a primary trailer
tire or as a spare.

An 8 ply tire has a lower load capacity.
It is more susceptible to flats.
It does not last as long.

Did you look at my post above with
the link to a 10 ply E load range tire
that you can buy online with free
shipping to your door ?

I have bought 15 and 16 inch trailer
tires from that company with good results.
