I need some help identifying year of Radiator. I believe to be between 1914-1916 based on what the encyclopedia says and various other posts.
I dont know how to ready the data tag on the back, not sure the numbers mean anything ? Looking to use on my Power Unit project. After re-core of course.

Thanks in advance.

There's no tube for gas headlights, so it's not 1914. 1915 or 1916? I don't think there's any difference.

Somewhere in the time line the neck was riveted as well as soldered, the rivets coming later in production.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies.

1) No gas tube - I noticed that but not knowing what to look for, I did notice the two holes in the side trim. Is that where the tube would go or is that for the electric wires to pass through?
2) rivets / solder - Attached is a close up of the neck. Does this help?

The rivets put it at the end of brass radiator production. How close to the end I do not know. I was told my 1915 tourer should have them, but not my 1912 van.

According to the encyclopedia, the drawings to indicate the rivets for filler neck, was October 1911.

I hope you are correct Frank. The neck I had for my van was drilled for rivets, so I used it when assembling the radiator onto an original new old stock core.

It is most likely a mid to late '14. I haven't seen a '14 with the stamped serial plate that low yet. They moved it up around 1915.

do the numbers in the serial plate mean anything? Do they match the serial number of the engine? If so this would make it Oct. 1914?

No they have nothing to do witj the engine number. Not all rads were even made by Ford. I believe these are specific to the maker of the radiator.

True for early years. By the end of 1912 all were made by Ford.
