The photo with the kangaroos, it looks like a big bird over the hood and radiator.

That would have been a wedge tailed eagle before being shot. They are magnificent raptors, now protected fortunately. Once shot on sight, as predators on lambs and sheep.

11th photo down showing the gathering of cars around a big marquee, only one car has the top not folded! We have great weather down here
The roos are big reds, the largest of them all. There is a kangaroo/ wallaby/ euro/poteroo and others to fill a niche in almost any Australian habitat.
