old garage jackstands
I picked these up years ago at a gargae sale, I thought you guys might appreciate them. No markings on them other than what looks like a casting number on the bottom plate. The construction is pretty unique. Any ideas?

Re: old garage jackstands
The jack stands, formerly known as safety jacks, were most likely made during WW II. My father patented a design and I have the original samples. I occasionally use them.

Nice old USA made jack stands. We now trust our lives to cheap china cast iron.

Yup, and every time I use my Chinesium stands, I leave the jack there too (if I can).

Re: old garage jackstands
Here’s 3 American made homemade Jack stands we’ve had around our farm for around 50 years. My father got them at a farm auction in the 60’s.
One of them has the part number T2853 on it. I think we know what this is.
