Going through my Grandfathers thing and found this picture and wondering what kind of car this is.

car is a early Dodge Brothers ... probably a 1916 -1917 ... it appears to have Stanweld wheels so probably a 1916 ... these were very good cars ... my favorite early car due to their power and very good quality ... great car for our mountians here in Colorado ... always an optimist ...Gene French

Daisy, it may be best to qualify " first all steel body on a car " to first all steel body on a Dodge car, if that is true. I saw late teens Case tourer in a Spokane workshop, with an all steel body. I was not aware at the time that Case ever built cars.

this is a much earlier than 1923-24 Dodge Brothers touring ... the straight windshield and hump over the rear spring mount is a very clear indicator ... i stand by the 1916-17 date ( i have had 3 touring and 1 roadster of that era ) ... also the " all steel " Budd body was on the earliest Dodge Brothers cars ... NO structural wood in body ... only wood was in tack strips for upholstery ... again a great car suitable for all driving conditions ...always an optimist Gene French

Tied to nail down the date by pictures. Pictures showing the upright windshield make it one prior to 1919. I do believe that front rear top arms prior to 1917 are more upright from the photos. So it may be a 1917-1918 range.
