I am working on a 24 Touring. It has a new wiring harness and a new ignition switch. The tailight only comes on when the switch is turned to “on” but not on “dim”. Should it be on in both positions? Thanks, Art

Yes. The outer ring inside the switch will make contact as indicated, green, in this diagram. The brass colored contacts are riveted to a steel ring providing continuity. In the diagram one is in contact with the BAT connection & the others are DIM Tail or Bright Tail. What do the headlights indicate?
Check for continuity on the Tail screw when the switch is on dim (one lead on DIM & the other on Tail) no wires connected. Its possible that the lower U is not making contact
