What rims are these

I was at a car show with my 26 roadster and a guy with modern iron (50''s muscle car) said he had a set of split rims like the ones on my car and asked i I wanted them. I went over after the show and got them, but they aren't Model T. Any idea what they are? The tires on them were 4.75 - 19, so I think that means 19 inch rims?????

Be sure to post them on AACA where there are experts on lots of different makes.

Not T. Not model A. Late Model A"s were 19" but they were mounted on drop centre wore wheels.

Frank has nailed it. You might be able to get it done in the car, but there is no way you can get the pinion gear mesh correct, or the ideal rolling fit on the gear teeth, not to mention rhe correct combination of thrust washers to set the diff centre within the housing.

That tire size fits 1930-31 Chevrolet. Not all Chevrolet’s had wire wheels those years. Most likely they are off a 1930 Chevrolet with disk wheels, but with out the lugs it is hard to know, other cars used this size in those years.

Oops! my post about the axle rebuild belongs on the next post about an in-the-car fitting of a Ruckstell .
