Angle of the windshield of a '26 roadster

I am about to install the top and side curtains of my 26 Roadster. At what angle should the windshield be? Is it straight up and down, or does it have a rake to it? If it has a rake, how much should it be?
Thanks!

On a '26, the windshield brackets mount with 3 bolts per side to the cowl. The '26 brackets have a rake or sweep to the rear from the front of the car.
The brackets pictured are only as high as the bottom glass.

The angle is set by the three bolts and corresponding holes in the pillars and the cowl. The angle is not adjustable, though there may be a little wriggle room in the bolt holes to help get them aligned with each other. Once you have them aligned, the new top is made to conform to the setting
As stated, your pillars have been cut off just above the lower pivot point.

Those brackets don't look right. The top of the bracket should have a post where the front bow bolts. It is a bit hard to see in the above pictures, but the touring is same as the Roadster. Note: there are two holes for the windshield sections. I think your brackets have been shortened to make a speedster.

I have to say the primed brackets aren’t correct for a 26 Touring or Roadster. As far as the rake goes it’s determined by the bracket angle when it’s attached to the body. Norms correct on this..

I found a better picture which shows the top of the post. That small part at the top is where the front bow clamps to the post.

The primed windshield posts in the above pic that you saw, have been cut down for only one pane of glass. They are at the stock correct angle, and were mounted on the cowl of my '26 as Henry intended. No modification there. Here's a pic of my car with a full windshield with 2 panes of glass.
And here's a pic of my speedster after restoration with the shortened posts you saw pictured in primer above.

If you use '26 or '27 windshield posts on an unmodified '26 or '27 body, the windshield angle will be correct.
It's also important that the rear top bow angle be correct for the top to fit and look like it should.
Be sure you have information on how to position the rear top bow.

Here is a photo of my roadster. I think the question has been answered that there is a slight slope to the rear of the windshield stantions. Here is a picture of the T before I added the headlights.

................If the W/S stanchions are not bent or were not bent & straightened not quite right.
I have seen stands on a restored 23 touring that were ridiculously bent too far back. Owner was not aware.
Sands a factory spec, I would compare my mounted set to factory car photos. That was how I set the rear bow angle also.

Will,
…Your windshield stanchions are correct………. Just because they look like mine

…and your wheels are of a nice color - although they’re not dusty

Hello Will,
Go to my post of Jan 21/19 called Improved Open Car Surgery and Build. Scroll down to where I show the vertical straight edge. The forward edge of the front roof bow aligns perfectly with the hinge pins. These cars were designed on a graph with verticals, horizontals, and compass drawn arcs.
