Original Style Pruden Front Wheel Felt Seals

I tried searching on the Forum but have not found an answer to this question. I would like to restore the original Pruden front wheel felt grease seals on our T. I've looked a little for the felt but am not sure of the density of felt to purchase. I think it would be in the F3 or F5 range. The timing gear cover on our '14 engine also has provisions for a felt seal where the camshaft come through the timing gear cover. It is unlike any timing gear I have seen before. It has a u-shaped recess that had a felt washer in it. The felt washer kind of looks like a flat washer. I'm guessing Ford used the same density of felt as they did on the wheel bearing, but not sure. Grainger (as well as other places) have nice descriptions of the different types of felt. Any thoughts? Any ideas how to cut a ring of felt out of a sheet?
Thanks!!!

McMaster-Carr Supply might well be better source of felt material than Grainger. Can you post some pictures of what you need this felt for?

Cutting felt is normally done by a punch method.

Doesnt the inner felt seals come as part of a complete felt seal set?
Langs lists them 09-27 loose for under a buck.

As soon as I can figure out how to post a picture of the timing gear cover camshaft seal, I will. Verne

The plain felts for the front hub seals are available from all the parts suppliers. Same as the one that goes in the rear hub.

Hole in timing gear cover for camshaft seal. Most of them I have seen you were able to press in a lip seal. This one has a groove for the felt in the previous photo. I have seen felts (in the past) that the suppliers sell and they don't seem dense enough.

I had great fun reshaping the housings for those seals. I used rear axle felt and cut it thinner for them.

It's nice that you are trying this.

If you send me your front cover, I’ll re-machine it for a modern seal for $80 and will include the new seal.
