How many Model T’ers does it take to install an engine? Two working and 10 directing! Central Wisconsin club met at noon today to install a fresh rebuild in a 1926 Coupe. All went well, burgers and dogs were delicious.

While it is a great reason to have a group of fellow Model T’rs over for hotdogs and talking T’s, the engine can easily be installed by one person with a good hoist, the right tools and the necessary experience. I have always done all the work to my T by myself, but I can see where it would be a lot more fun to make it a group effort. Jim Patrick

I think the whole thing must have been a setup………..I don’t see blood on anything, no dropped wrenches littering the landscape and not nearly enough oil on the floor!

Reminds one of a crew of city street workers...one down in the hole doing the digging and 3-5 on top watching!!
Of course now OSHA calls that "confined space" safety...

You can do it this way too! Just one guy. It’s a snap with two men though!
But I guess it’s more fun with several other people. You can reinstall the same way by reversing the procedure. It mentions you can have someone align the u-joint but it can be done alone. That’s one procedure I can do alone!
This was a partner with Bruce MaCally until they parted ways.
The old saying “a picture says a thousand words”. I wonder what words this would bring up.

No hoist.
A fellow enthusiast used this same method to continue the procedure after cracking a beam. Another story.
He placed a modern tire in front of the T to catch the motor when flipped out.
