🛞🛞🛞🛞 Progress Report On Steve Jelf 🛞🛞🛞🛞
Our guy was in great spirits today. Thing is, is that I think he'd like to skip this whole business of recovery and rehabilitation and go straight to the farm and T and get to work!
Not so fast, Dear One.
He received his two packages from John Long and I. John sent him a collection of old reference manuals in a well-used binder from around 1925. He said that it was right up his alley of things to look at. I sent him some crossword puzzle books (he said he loves those), pencils, a sharpener, a blank composition book to write stuff in, a Tom Brokaw book (An Album Of Memories: From The Greatest Generation) and some sugar free chocolate mints.
He was very surprised and grateful to get this stuff.
He's not exactly sure when they'll be sending him to a rehab facility, but when they do, I'll be sure to get the address and phone number to all of you.
Finally, Steve says he's "impatient to get back online with all of you again, but that's how it goes, I guess. However, I AM pleased to watch Trump squirming on the television today!"
Atta boy, Steve!

I think there’s a whole lot more folks who want to see Biden squirming when he can’t find his way off a stage! But isn’t he the most honest guy?

. After almost 50 yrs. In DC…..?????
Remember this is about Steve and being positive about him. We don’t don’t need to add your favorite whipping boy to the post. Now let’s move on.

Let's keep things happy here. Most of us are not right-wing conservatives or left-wing radicals. We need to steer clear of blasting Presidents and potential Presidents. They have no control of California emissions and do not set California law.

Wait - we already have a political nonsense thread regarding Califorina ZEVs, now this one is being turned into one, too?
Seriously? Making a post about Steve into another Political "FY-We hate you" thread? Can't you folks just grow up? Or like your grandpappy said - 2 things you don't talk about in polits company are POLITICS and religion. Enough said about that.
Meanwhile, Back to Steve... I'm glad he's in good spirits. I did the same thing as he did while on the mend - have binders with old service books, Ford Owner and Dealer mags in plastic sleeves page by page, even cracked my copy of the black book. Nice to relax with some good reading material!
But for God's sake, get hin a laptop and charger!!! He needs to get back on here - we miss him!

You all are shooting the 'messenger' here. It was
STEVE that said he was enjoying watching Trump squirm, -and not George. The way I read it, George is only relaying what Steve has said. Asking George to censor posting what Steve is saying is nonsense.

Maybe it is some of y'all that needs to grow-up and quit being offended by every little thing that seems political?

I wasn’t the one that mentioned an “unkind statement “ in the initial beginning post to begin with. At that point the statement about the former president should not have passed on in an open forum.
That’s where it started. And it wasn’t by me. Now let’s move on.

You guys need to “grow up”or I’ll ban the lot of you and limit your posting abilities to single words… and don’t for a microsecond think I won’t do it. This is about Steve, nothing else.
Keep politics out of the general discussions. There are PLENTY of places you can go to discuss the dysfunction of our government.

Thanks Jeff. As Barney Fife would say “Nip it in the bud”.
Continue with your great progress Steve. It will be a great day when you are back on the forum. Not the same without you. Jim Patrick

DO NOT skip the Rehab, he may have been joking, but that is a very important step to recovery. After looking at the crash pictures, I think Steve is very lucky or the T is not as much a death trap as they say. I greatly admire Steve's determination (or he may be nuts) to drive his T in today's world but, I believe the disdain for gas cars and old cars being viewed as the start of climate change touring in a classic may be coming to an end.

Surviving a crash when overturning a model T takes much longer that you realize. I had someone cut me off in 2001 and flipped mine ending up underneath. No broken bones or lacerations and I went home from the hospital the next day. Five days later snd the deep bruising started to appear. By this time I was teaching a workshop in France. Should never have gone. I was fragile for months.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve's accident. He is one of the guys that truly inspired me in this hobby. I always wished I could have joined him on one of his trips, hopefully possibly still a chance. My best to him and if there is something I can help with, let me know. Get well soon!!!
