Is there actually an Instness at Hershey…? More importantly, are you bringing home that Mercury?
If you are over there, congrats on making the pilgrimage all the way to the other coast. Enjoy your trip my friend!

I see there was a Tennessean named George Akin there. A fine gentleman.

Right near Dan Hatch's spot...
I found this 1966 Sears motorcycle very interesting...

Neat old tandem bike. Front and rear passenger can steer and front top bar is removable to make the front for girls in a dress.

Interesting to see a 50 ccm Puch VZ50 moped in the USA.
These where very popular in Denmark together with it's smaller sister Puch MS50 ("Puch Standard"). They where limited to 30 km/t. Now the regulation have removed these mini motocycle like mopeds from the market and the price for these have skyrocketted over the last 10 - 15 years. 7500 USD for a mint condition VZ50 is not uncommon!

I figured that Mercury would catch some people’s eye. Unfortunately, it won’t fit in my carry-on luggage.

Looks like an Atwood, always thought the early carbide generators had a real unique look to them. Best John

I was a little disappointed. I got there Tuesday at 7 am ready to go and stuff was still covered up 2 hours later. I walked the chocolate fields north and south, all the red fields and got halfway thru the green and started seeing tarps covering things again around 5 PM. overall it was a great show. meet some good people. and found some good treasures. I think next year I will plan a multiple day trip and start after 9AM. trying to cover that much ground in one day is killer

i had a step counter saying i was in the range of 26 thousand steps. I could barely walk Wednesday. the Model T is worth it thought.

9 to 4 are typically the hours, although the Star Spangled Banner is played at 8. Some will hang around until 5. A lot of good parts this year, though.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. some great looking T's there. Two that got my attention were the Mercury and the yellow speedster. Just for my burning curiosity, were they both for sale and and what prices?

I don’t know about the Mercury but the yellow speedsters was owned by one of the members that was at the MTFCA tent. He ran it while we where there and it sounded great! beautifully built machine. As far as I know it wasn’t for sale.

It was another great year at Hershey! Thanks to the Hershey AACA Region for putting on the biggest and best swap meet around.
I found some great treasures and sold enough stuff to pay for my expenses and purchases and I even came home with some money! To top it off, got to visit with some great friends that I have made over the years.
I don’t understand why people complain about Hershey. If you want it to become better, stop complaining and be a part of the solution. Get a vendor spot next year, sell some stuff, and tell everyone about how great it is! Or go next every day next year and spend a lot of money!
Sure, the meet is different than it used to be, but what things in this world are the same as they were 10 years ago?

Definitely an interesting bit of information. Paper says it was built for drone technology? And Marylyn Monroe had a hand in there production. And One ended up on a bicycle at Hershey! I wish I had the extra cash I would have bought it and maybe used it to finish off the swap meet
