Float valve needle for Holley 2 Screw

Ok, searching through my pictures of the 2 screw that I was sent, I can't find one pic of the float valve needle. So, are the triangular or square? I know they've got a tail on the end that plays against the float lever, I just need to know what the valve needle looks like. Also in this same vane, what does the valve needle look like for a Holley H1. If you've got pictures please post them here, so I can finish up both of these two carburetors, thanx. ;)

I believe the one on the right is a replacement.

Martynn, the standard H1 needle is a way different beast, both in physical appearance and the way it works. I'll have to get one out of my spare carb to photograph it, if someone doesn't beat me to it. The assembly is troublesome, and carb builders like Stan Howe usually replace it with a simpler design.

Corey.....Hmmm, it looks like it is triangular....the outside are flat with a rounded center and yes I think you're correct about it being an original...the picture from the parts book was a kind of fuzzy, but that tab on the back of the valve, is pretty much flared like this one is.

Allan, you're right uncle Stan Howe would've put something simpler in if it's as different as you're implying. But I draw things as they were built, not as folks redesign to make it either easier to work with or function....so, yes I want to see the original (hmmm I wonder if it is anything like the Stromberg Model B #3? it's an odd arrangement too). :)

Corey I'm not a photographer so don't take this as a criticism because it certainly is not meant that way. Can you change the lighting to see if you can get a picture with no shadow? I have no suggestions on how you do that.

Here is the H1 needle and float arm. Yes, the S needle is triangular. I might can get a better photo with my iPad, my phone is shot and it’s hit or miss on getting it to take a picture at all.

Don't know if these will help. From an H1 in my collection of need to fix carb's. With my camera, can't get much better.

Thanks Corey, mark and Bryant. You saved me some work, mainly finding the carburetor.

Thanks guys, these are great, now I can put the Model S (2 screw) to bed and the H1 sometime in the next 2 weeks or so (takes time to look up and put both the vendor part numbers and the factor part numbers and change dates on two drawings). ;)
